Tim started with a 1964 J 300 and a 1985 Grand Wagoneer, it has a 73 401ci engine bored .30 Kieth Black custom pistons,
Comp Cams: cam, springs, pushrods, and roller rockers. Rhoads lifters. Performance American guide plates.
Headman hedders, Flowmaster dual 3" exhaust, MSD 6 AL, and matching distributor, PAW custom rods,
Edelbrock Air Gap intake, Predator carburator. The heads were plained, ported and pollished... The engine dyno read 526 hp at the crank. 5 more than the 401 in Hot Rod magazine, which was the basis for the build.... The trans is a Turbo 400 built by Trans Pros with a TCI 2000 rpm stall..Transfer case is a NP 208 (hope it can handle it).. Rear end is a GM 12 bolt 3.73 with an Eaton locker. The front is a Dana 44 with a mini spool.. The tires are 35 x 15.50 x 15 Super Swamper TSL SX on 15x10 american racing wheels..The front bumper was a flat piece of steel that he formed into a protective mass. The J 300 box is shortened 24", and the frame is lengthened and boxed in 8" behind the rear spring mount..16" of the rear cab is all that remains of the J300 cab..the suspention is a 4" SkyJacker..The interior remains almost the same as the Wagoneer originated, aside for the B&m Star gate shifter.. the color is vivid canary yellow. This truck is Tim's daily driver, and oh what fun it is to drive..... All the work was done at his home in the garage... By trade Tim is the Parts manager for a locall Ford dealership.....hahaha |
